I had such an eventful summer this year. We did a lot of traveling. The first place we went to was Portland, Oregon for a friend’s wedding. We spent a few extra days there too and enjoyed the markets and lots of biscuit restaurants. After that we flew to New York City to hang out with Grandma and Grandpa for a few days. We also met one of my friends that lives in Morocco at the M&M store. We went to a Broadway show called Just In Time and the main lead actor was the guy that voiced Sven in the Frozen movies. Next, we went to Portland, Maine where we go every couple years and visit our favorite attractions like the big lighthouse nearby.
We then went to Chicago for a few days before my sister and I went away to Camp Tannadoonah for two whole weeks! It’s a super duper fun sleep away camp in Michigan. There are lots of activities like archery, cooking class, crafting, and various sports. It was my first time going for two weeks and I loved the weekend because we got to make phone calls, use electronic devices, and watched a movie.
Once we got back to Lisbon, we left to London just a few days later for a long weekend. We spent a lot of time at the Tower of London and ate a lot of good food. Back to Lisbon again, for just a few more days, and then we were off on our end-of-summer trip with friends to Madeira. It was a surprised for me and my sister. My parents said we were going somewhere else and we “ran into friends” at the airport. After chatting with them for a few minutes, my mom said “what if we go on their trip with them because it sounds more fun!”. We stayed at an all-inclusive resort which was a lot of fun because we got to swim a lot and take breaks at the snack bar. Even the minibar in the room was free, but my dad didn’t know until after we checked out.
